Commerce – Project STEEM at Texas A&M University-Commerce Thursday recognized area schools and their students for participating in the Project's X-Team's component. 10 rural schools were chosen to participate in the program last summer, which have since researched and composed data on a variety of topics as they pertains to science, technology, engineering and or math.

Project STEEM is an organization established last year to help encourage public school students in becoming interested in science, technology, engineering and math. Yesterday's student presentations included studies of how to reduce the mosquito population and a feasibility study on wind turbines, among others.
