Memorial fund set up for accident victim

By Scott Harvey

Sherman – A memorial fund has been set up to assist the family of 19-year-old Malorie Elise Bullock, of Sherman, who died Thursday night following an accident near Campbell.

The Sherman Fire Department has set up the fund with Cicost Credit Union in Sherman, to assist in funeral costs. For more information or to make a contribution, you can call 903-892-6089.

According to a dispatcher with the Department of Public Safety office in Sulphur Springs, Bullock was riding on the back of a motorcycle driven by Tanner Bryant Burnett and traveling northbound on Highway 24/50 when the bike left the roadway and hit a sign.

Both Burnett and Bullock were wearing helmets.

Unconfirmed reports to KETR indicate another vehicle may have pulled out in front of the motorcycle, forcing it to swerve.

The DPS report indicated a one vehicle wreck, but according to the Commerce dispatch log from Thursday night, a white two door truck was involved in an accident at Highway 50 and Interstate 30. Commerce PD then attempted to locate the truck but was unable to do so.

The accident is currently under investigation by Trooper William Hanna, who was not available for comment as of Friday afternoon.

The 19-year-old Burnett, of Commerce, underwent eight hours of surgery Friday at Parkland Hospital in Dallas after suffering multiple broken bones in the accident.
