Commerce – The A&M-Commerce men's and women's basketball teams made a clean sweep last night at home over East Central Oklahoma.
The women made it look easy as they rolled over ECU 67-39. Andrea Lewis led the team with 14 points. Lone Star Conference North Player of the Week Katedria Mosley and Kanani Marshall both added 13 points, while Althea Byfield notched 11. The women are 11-7 overall and 3-0 in conference play. They are ranked sixth in the South Central Region.
The men's team made it much closer, as Junior Guard Lamar Searight hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to take the first Lion's victory at home this season. The Lions snapped a four-game skid and took their first conference win of the season, as they downed East Central in the final seconds 70-67. The men are 11-7 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
Both teams are on the road this weekend for a double-header in Durant, Oklahoma. The women face Southeastern Oklahoma Saturday at 6pm with the men following at 8pm.
