Michigan resident shot dead following<BR>traffic stop near Greenville

Greenville – A recent traffic stop near Greenville leads to the shooting death of a Michigan resident. A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper performed the stop on the 18-wheeler along Interstate 30 late Sunday night. Trooper Bubba Goodwin, with the Greenville DPS office, is said to have been speaking with the driver of the truck when the passenger brandished a knife. Goodwin then opened fire, killing the suspect. He's been placed on administrative leave while the investigation into the incident is conducted by the Texas Rangers.
