'Mini-van gunman' to be arraigned

Roger Dale Hogue
Greenville Herald-Banner

A Lone Oak man, previously convicted of murder, is scheduled to be arraigned this morning on multiple charges in connection with an incident in and around the city last month.

Roger Dale Hogue, 48, remains in custody at the Hunt County Jail, following his arrest on the night of May 20, after witnesses reported observing Hogue repeatedly threaten the female driver of a mini-van by pointing a handgun at her head. The woman was not injured as a result of the incident.

Hogue is set to appear in the 196th District Court today to be arraigned on one count each of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon/family violence and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

The Hunt County grand jury issued the indictments May 29. Hogue appeared in the court Monday morning and had an attorney appointed to represent him on the charges. Hogue was involved in a dating relationship with the alleged victim at the time of the incident.

At the time of the arrest, Hogue was on parole after being convicted of murder in June 1999 for the July 1998 shooting death of Bobby James Rogers at Hogue’s former Lone Oak residence.

Hogue was sentenced to 20 years in prison on the conviction.
