Dallas – A Lamar County boy continues his miraculous recovery, one month after being shot in the head by his mother.
Ten-year-old Dalton Young underwent yet another surgery on Thanksgiving in Dallas to repair his skull, and is said to be in high spirits.
Dalton's mother, Salida Young, reportedly shot him in the head at their home in the Lamar County community of Powderly on Oct. 25. She is also believed to have shot and killed Kayla Roberts, before turning the gun on herself.
Dalton's family is holding a benefit for him on December 19th, from noon to 10:00 p.m., at the Elks Lodge in Paris. Live music and food will be provided and donations will be accepted. For more on how you can help, call (580) 230-9475.
