Bonham – Authorities have seized about 60 dogs and three horses from a Fannin County property.
Brenda Neely's Pet Place near Bonham reportedly had eleven dead animals in plastic bags stored in a barn. The SPCA of Texas says many of the dogs were severely underweight or emaciated, and some had no access to water.
Investigators said they had repeatedly warned the owner about the animals' poor care, but say that owner failed to improve conditions.
A Justice of the Peace will decide on March 4 who should be awarded custody of the animals. They were taken to the Perry Animal Clinic in McKinney for evaluation.
