Over 100 people and organizations will be recognized during awards ceremonies next month in honor of the late Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

On Sunday, January 15, the Hunt County African American Leadership Conference will conduct the 2012 Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Awards Celebration in Commerce.

Awards will be given to those who demonstrate Dr. King’s legacy of raising public consciousness to social justices, securing progress on civil rights, and loving and serving humanity.

The following day, January 16, is the 21st Annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Awards Ceremony in Sulphur Springs, conducted by the East Caney Missionary Baptist Church and the Hopkins County African American Leadership Conference.

The public is invited to both events.
