Mobile home plant to create up to 120 jobs in Commerce

Commerce – Legacy Housing, LTD is expanding into Commerce, renovated an old factory and creating up to 120 jobs over the next three years. $1.2 million will be invested to renovate the former Sulphur River Storage facility and create a mobile home manufacturing plant.

The Commerce City Council approved an incentive package in regular session this week to bring the plant to town. Legacy Housing General Manager Ray McKay has lived in Commerce most of his life. McKay began working in the mobile home industry at the former Champion Mobile Home plant in Commerce, and worked there for 19 years.

He plans to begin renovation of the property immediately.
