The Lone Star Conference office declared Wednesday that for the second time this outdoor season, senior Masoud Moghaddam has been named the LSC Field Athlete of the Week.

For the third time so far this season, Moghaddam reset the Texas A&M University-Commerce school record in the hammer throw, only this time a significant milestone was involved. Per his usual, Moghaddam eviscerated the competition at the ASU David Noble Relays with a throw of 65.34m, beating the next-best opponent by well-over 13 meters. The Iranians throw wound up as the second automatic qualifying mark for the Lions on the year, which sits comfortably on top of the LSC, and stands as the third-best throw in Division II.

Moghaddam's strong performance was the cherry on top of a strong men's performance at the David Noble Relays, which helped the Lions maintain their top-five ranking, as they currently stand at No. 4 in the country. In spite of falling a spot from No. 3, Texas A&M University-Commerce's team-score rose to 141.05. Not only that, they maintain their top-spot in the region with a score of 504.76, over 63 points ahead of Angelo State who climbed to No. 2 in the national poll.

The Lions will next travel back to San Angelo on Thursday, April 9 to take part in the multi-event portion of the David Noble Relays. After that, they will travel to Stephenville for the second time this year to take part in the Tarleton State cuneate meet, which is scheduled to take place on April 11.
