More bad news for the Hunt County Jail

By Kevin Jefferies

Greenville – More bad news for the Hunt County Jail. The jail was again found in non-compliance with state standards after a surprise visit last week by the Texas Commission on Jail Standards. The staffing shortage at the jail has been corrected, but the jail failed inspection with inadequate detention officer training documentation, checks on inmates in holding and detox units, and on providing adequate exercise. Hunt County Judge Joe Bobbitt said he hopes to be able to concentrate on these areas now that staffing issues have been addressed.
