More cattle reported stolen

NPR
Authories continue to investigate the increased number of stolen cattle in Delta County.

In Delta County, the number of cattle reported stolen continues to rise.

Last Saturday, another theft was reported to have happened West of Klondike on 2155 County Road.

The owner of the cattle came to his property in Klondike to find that the lock on his gate had been cut off and five of his cows were missing.

The incident is being investigated by the sheriff’s office and the Texas Southwestern Cattle Association’s  Tony Hurley.

Stolen cattle aren’t only a problem in Delta County. In Hopkins County there have been over 60 cattle reported stolen since June 2012.

The Hopkins and Delta County Law Enforcement and the Lake Country Crime Stoppers are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the culprit of both cattle thefts.

If you know any information about these crimes call 903-885-2020.
