More demolition in Commerce

By Bill Oliver

Commerce, TX –

Over 30 structures have been razed the last seven years on the campus of Texas A and M University-Commerce. The latest was this week as the Century House apartments were demolished.

A&M-Commerce President Dr. Keith McFarland said when the university purchased the apartments they were going to be occupied for a couple of years. After closer inspection, Dr. McFarland decided to tear down the buildings immediately.

Landscaping will occupy the lot, which is next door to the new Memorial Student Center.

Slated for demolition later this year is Hubbell Hall. Under review is the future of Mayo Hall.
