More development on <br>Live Oak in Commerce

More demolition occurred the week of August 13th on Live Oak Street in Commerce between Highway 50 and Washington.

More demolition is occurring on Live Oak Street in Commerce between Highway 50 and Washington.

Three times this year, old homes and businesses have been cleared on that stretch of Live Oak. However, this is the first time demolition will be immediately followed with new construction. Along the south side of Live Oak between Washington and Monroe, three old houses have been removed.

Commerce financial planner Russell Armstrong is taking part of the land to build his new AIS Financial Services office. It will be on the west end of the four parcels, next to a metal building he owns. The east end, towards Washington, will be for future development.

Armstrong plans to move right after the first of the year. His current office, in a strip center he owns on Live Oak across from Memorial Stadium, could be used by a neighboring business that wants to expand or it could be filled by a new occupant.
