Mosquito spraying through Thursday

Commerce – The City of Commerce will finish up the latest round of mosquito spraying Thursday. The city sprayed recently, but decided to spray again after complaints said mosquitoes were still a problem.

SHIPP:We didn't know [the problem] down as much as we thought we could, so we decided we're going to do it again. We going to do it one more time just before [the] 4th of July, as well.

Commerce City Manager Bill Shipp said the mosquitoes came out in force after rains in May, but some progress was made after the first spraying.

Citizens are advised to cover fish ponds and stay indoors for 30 minutes when spraying is in your area.
