Murder conviction would lead to execution

GREENVILLE - Prosecutors intend to seek the death penalty in a murder case that alleges the suspect fatally shot his ex-wife.

The announcement came Thursday concerning Micah Crawford Brown, who remains jailed for the alleged murder of Stella Michelle Ray, a teacher at Caddo Mills ISD.

Another status hearing in the case is set for June 5. A trial date has not been set.

Authorities say Brown shot Ray in front of their two children while in a believed custody dispute.
