Murder suspects avoid jail time in plea deal

By Scott Harvey

Quitman – The Wood County District Attorney's Office has reached a plea deal with two brothers charged in the murder of a Winnsboro woman.

Ty Evans and Demarcus Hearn will not receive prison time, but ten years probation for their alleged involvement in the 2009 drive-by shooting of 24-yhear-old Anna Marie Moore. Evans had been tried twice in the case, each ending in a mistrial.

The Wood County DA says if Hearn or Evans is to break their terms of probation, they could receive up to life in prison.

Moore's brother, Taylor, says it's hard to feel closure when no one is locked up for Anna murder.
