Murder suspect's wife confesses to plot

In a strange turn, Kim Williams, the wife of murder suspect Eric Williams, has been charged with one count of capital murder.

Update:

The Dallas Morning News reports that Kim Williams' arrest warrant describes her confessing to participating in a plan to commit the murders and that Eric Williams was the shooter.

Original story:

The Dallas Observer reports that now both former Kaufman County Justice of the Peace Eric Williams, 46, and his wife Kim Williams are being held in connection with the killings of the Kaufman County District Attorney, his wife and a top prosecutor.

Kim Williams, also 46, is charged with one count of capital murder and is being held on a $10 million bond in the Kaufman County jail. The Dallas Morning News reports that she was admitted just before 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Law enforcement officials have said they expect capital murder charges to be filed against Eric Williams.

Mike McLelland, 63, and 65-year-old wife Cynthia were found repeatedly shot to death in their home on the evening of March 30. Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse, 57, was gunned down Jan. 31 as he walked to the county courthouse.

Eric Williams was arrested early Saturday on a terroristic threat charge after dozens of law enforcement workers executed a search warrant at his Kaufman home on Friday. He is being held on bail totaling $3 million in the terroristic threat case and other prior charges.
