Murder suspects withdraw writs of habeas corpus

By Brad Kellar

Quinlan – Two murder suspects are to stay put for the time being. David Earl Hickman, of Royse City, and Tracie Danielle Alphin, of Quinlan, have both withdrawn their writs of habeas corpus on charges of murder, which sought the appointment of an attorney, reduction in their bonds, or both. Prosecutors are also seeking to revoke Alphin's probation on a previous conviction for unauthorized use of a vehicle. Both Hickman and Alphin have been charged with murder involving the death of Jason Herrington. Herrington had been missing for more than a month before his body was discovered near Lake Tawakoni on Nov. 25. Hickman and Alphin remain in custody at the Hunt County Jail, each in lieu of $1 million bond.
