New administrative faces at Commerce Middle School

By Kevin Jefferies

Commerce –

Commerce Middle School will have a new man sitting in the principal's chair when classes resume this month. Mitchell Curry takes over the position at CMS after serving as an assistant principal in Wylie for three years. He was a band director for eleven years before that.

Curry received his master's degree in educational administration from A&M-Commerce and said he looks forward to taking the helm in a 3A school district. After teaching in large and small schools, Curry feels a district the size of Commerce offers enough resources for students while still fostering close relationships between teachers, students, and parents.

Curry will also be joined by another new administrative face at Commerce Middle School. Travis Taylor, who is currently working towards his master's in administration at A&M-Commerce, will be taking over as Assistant Principal for CMS.
