Royse City – Royse City has hired a new city manager. Karen Philippi was hired Saturday by unanimous approval of the Royse City City Council. Philippi currently is the city manager for the City of Alpine. The council expressed pleasure with the search firm Johnson and Associates for helping bring qualified candidates to the search. Other finalists for the job were current Greenville Director of Community Development Philip Sanders and Fort Stockton City Manager Jesse Garcia.
Royse City will be paying airfare for Philippi so she can find a home, and the city will also be paying moving costs.
