New Commerce High football coach-AD hired

By Bill Oliver

Commerce, TX – Commerce will be the first head football coaching and Athletic Director's post for Bryan Price. Price comes from Barbers Hill High School in Mont Belvieu, about midway between Houston and Beaumont along Interstate 10.

Barbers Hill, which moved up to 4-A and had an undefeated regular season, has been to the playoffs eight consecutive years. Bryan was at the school 12 years, most recently as offensive coordinator for his father, Don Price. The school's website also listed Price as head boys track coach and sophomore class sponsor along with teaching English and physical education.

Price could start in Commerce as early as next Monday. The graduate of Sam Houston with a masters from Stephen F. Austin has two daughters, one who will be a freshman next year and one who will be a 7th grader next year.

The Commerce school board approved a one year contract at a salary of $68,000 dollars.
