New Commerce public safety building almost done

By Bill Oliver

Commerce, TX –

This Friday is the self-employed deadline by the construction company to move their trailer after years of occupancy, overseeing the building of the just opened Commerce City Hall and the nearly ready to occupy new home of Commerce Police, Fire, and 9-1-1. City Council members were told in their last meeting the secured portion of the public safety building should be completed by the end of this week, including outside access where prisoners are taken in and out. Air conditioning has been tested, and most of the signage has arrived. City Hall signs are also here, leaving the installation and adjustment of audio-visual equipment as the remaining item to finish that building. An open house for both structures is planned for June 21st.
