New feature added to city's emergency notification system

By Scott Harvey

Greenville – A new feature with the City of Greenville's emergency notification system will allow citizens to add the phone number from the message sent to a cell phone contact list.

This will enable any citizen who may miss the intended call to dial the displayed toll-free number back and listen to the message. The number is 1-866-419-5000.

The city's CodeRED system employs internet mapping that is capable of geographically targeting calls, coupled with a telephone calling system that can reach homes and businesses at up to 60,000 calls per hour.

Greenville residents with a land line are already part of the CodeRED database. Residents may also register additional telephone numbers at the City's website at www.ci.greenville.tx.us.
