New hospital for Rockwall

By Kevin Jefferies

Rockwall – The City of Rockwall has announced plans to build a new 120,000 square foot hospital. It would be the second full-service hospital in Rockwall County. 70 area physicians and a major healthcare company plan to have the Presbyterian Hospital of Rockwall running by Fall of 2007. Fourteen of 33 total acres along the medical corridor that already hosts Heath's Baylor Medical Facility will be used for construction, with the additional acreage marked for medical developments.

Presbyterian Hospital of Rockwall will offer emergency, obstetrics, diagnostic imaging, surgery, and other services such as an intensive care unit and a labor and delivery unit.
