SULPHUR SPRINGS - Sulphur Springs Middle School administrators are preparing to make the move to their new quarters along State Highway 11 upon completion of the facility, expected by month’s end.

Claycomb Associates Architects told the school board Monday said that once complete, the city will inspect the building for a certificate of occupancy. A minor facelift will then be given to the existing middle school on Bell Street, which will house third and fourth grade students in the fall. Officials broke ground on the new Middle School in summer 2010. They had hoped to be done in late 2011 but fell behind schedule.

Voters approved construction of the new Middle School, as well as a new Multipurpose Building, as part of a $48.4 million bond three years ago.
