New Paris ISD high school coming along quickly

By Scott Harvey

Paris – Construction at the new Paris ISD high school is proceeding at break-neck speed, according to a recent release.

Over 120 workers for Pogue Construction are said to be working six days a week, and 10 to 12 hours a day on the project.

The new high school will open in August, 2010 and will accommodate 1,000 students in a 220,000 square foot facility. The 70 acre site, located at the intersection of South Collegiate Drive and Loop 286, will be equipped with a new football stadium, and track and field athletic facilities.

Voters in May, 2007 approved the facility, with the low bid on the project coming in at more than $43 million. Crews broke ground in March, 2009.
