Greenville – The City of Greenville is putting new rules in place for residents using the 96-gallon garbage cans. New rules under consideration would keep residents from putting the cans on the street for days at a time. The containers would still have to be on the curb by 7am on the scheduled day of pick up, but cannot be placed prior to 5pm the night before, and must be removed by 8am the morning after trash is collected. Violators of the policy face fines up to $2,000 for each offense.
