Hunt County – A new section of Highway will be opening soon in Hunt County. Traffic is to be put on the newly constructed portions of Highway 380 between the Collin County line to Farm-To-Market Road 903, just east of the community of Floyd, beginning Friday. The Texas Department of Transportation is asking the public to exercise caution while traveling in the area. The first leg of the expansion of the highway began last year. TxDOT is wanting to create a four-lane divided highway through Hunt County. Later this year, a bid is expected to be awarded for the second phase of the project, from west of Floyd to the county line. Two-way traffic is expected to run on the new leg of Highway 380 for approximately six months while the final phase of the initial project is being completed.
