Commerce – The Texas A&M University-Commerce Athletic Department Tuesday introduced Nicole Anderson as its new head coach for women's basketball.

Anderson has spent the last six years as the recruiting coordinator and assistant coach at Division I member Long Beach State University, and at the Hoop School in Long Beach, California, where she is the founder and CEO. She earned her bachelor's degree from UCLA in 1993, where she starred on the basketball team and was named one of the 15 greatest players in the program's history.

The Lion women are coming off an 18-11 record last year, and an appearance in the second round of the Lone Star Conference Tournament.
