No foul play suspected in Bonham apt. fire

By Scott Harvey

Bonham – The cause of last weekend's apartment fire in Bonham that killed three will be declared undetermined, according to Bonham Fire Marshall Bruce Caylor.

Following investigations by both insurance firms and the state fire marshal's office, officials do not suspect foul play, but were unable to determine a direct cause.

On May 17, 31-year-old Brandi Goleman, and her two children, ages one and three were killed when the fire swept through a portion of the two-story, 16 unit complex. No other major injuries were reported.

Local Red Cross and ministry chapters have placed the remaining displaced residents in temporary housing units.

Bonham Fire Chief Bill Palya says he doubts anyone will be allowed to move back in due to the amount of damage sustained. That will force residents to find new permanent housing.
