BONHAM - Several homes were threatened in Bonham and residents evacuated after a grass fire broke out just before 3 p.m. Monday.
Approximately 30 acres were scorched in a field off Highway 82 near Broadband Street, behind McDonald's.
Crews from five area departments took about two hours to contain the blaze, which ended with no structure damage or injuries.
Bonham Fire Chief Brad Nichols says heat and wind conditions helped spread the fire quickly, but the cause was unclear.
