Lone Oak – No more dump. A permit to allow a septic dump near Lone Oak was overturned Wednesday by TCEQ Commissioners. Applause rang out when the decision was made, as nearly 75 area residents were in attendance at the meeting Wednesday. The TCEQ board listened as several people spoke out against the proposed septic dump, citing concerns of contamination of local water supplies, as the site sits on a water shed for Lake Tawakoni and Lake Fork.
The commission said if Gustavo Ortega, owner of the property and proposed dump, wishes to continue from this point, he must file for a different permit which requires much more public input into the final decision.
