Non-traditional <BR>Chamber ribbon cutting

By Bill Oliver

Commerce, TX –

A medical helicopter flies in and out of Commerce almost daily to serve patients. Wednesday afternoon, the copter came to town for a different reason.

In fact, the LifeStar Air Evac helicopter didn't even go to the hospital. The aircraft landed on second base of the ballfield at Commerce City Park. The occasion was a ribbon cutting.

LifeStar became a member of the Commerce Chamber of Commerce and brought in the whirlybird for the event.

A more traditional ribbon cutting is on tap Thursday at noon at the New Life Congregational Methodist Church at 911 Jernigan Street in Commerce.
