Not guilty plea entered in Quinlan-area murder

Quinlan – A not guilty plea has been entered in a Quinlan area murder case.

David Earl Hickman, of Royse City, has pleaded not guilty to a charge of capital murder, in connection with the shooting death last October of Jason Herrington of Quinlan. Hickman was arraigned on the indictment Thursday. An attorney was appointed to represent him and an interim hearing was set for April 13.

Hickman and Tracie Danielle Alphin, of Quinlan were originally charged with murder in connection with the death. Both remain in custody at the Hunt County Jail, each in lieu of $1 million bond. Alphin is scheduled to be arraigned on the charge April 2.

Herrington's body was discovered in late Nov., 2008 more than a month after he had gone missing.
