Not guilty plea heard in Commerce robbery

Commerce – A not guilty plea has been entered in connection with a Commerce armed robbery. Edward Joe Lopez pleaded not guilty Tuesday to a charge of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon involving an incident which allegedly occurred in June of last year. A tentative trial date has been set for September 14. Lopez, and Favion Ontoin Brown, both of Commerce, were each indicted by in December. The pair was alleged in the indictment to have used a firearm to threaten and rob two male victims of money in Commerce last summer.
