Not guilty verdict in manslaughter case

By Brad Kellar

Royse City – A not guilty verdict has been handed down in an intoxication manslaughter trial. Chaddrick Hunter, of Royse City, was found guilty by a jury Wednesday on one count of failure to stop and render aid in connection with the March 2007 death of Buck Jones of Tennessee. Jones was struck from behind as he walked along the northbound service road of eastbound Interstate 30 just east of Royse City. Hunter reportedly was coming home from a Dallas club and attempted to swerve and miss Jones, but was unable to do so. Hunter was said to have continued to his parent's house and then returned.
