Officials to address illegal dumping cases

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – Additional lawsuits could be forthcoming in Hunt County against those thought to be dumping materials illegally.

The City of Commerce has already filed a multi-million dollar suit against a New Orleans-based company.

Hunt County Commissioners Monday will receive an update on three suits and consider filing another. In January, state officials unearthed several buckets and barrels containing chemicals and rubber hoses at the Precinct 2 Barn facility. Commissioners will also discuss a pending suit against a Travis County demolition company, who is alleged to have illegal disposed of debris from Texas A&M University-Commerce.

The discussions will be part of the closed door executive session portion of the meeting.
