HUNT COUNTY – An investigation continues into the murder of a Royse City woman, whose body was found earlier this month in Hunt County.
Sheriff's investigators are currently awaiting the results of laboratory tests on items found at the murder scene. No other new developments were available as of Wednesday.
The body of 29-year-old Heather Leann Pope was found Aug. 2 outside of a vacant house in the Duck Cove area along the shores of Lake Tawakoni. Pope had been missing for about two weeks.
Autopsy results confirm she was murdered due to blunt force trauma to the head.
