Officials look to fill constable's post

By Scott Harvey

Sulphur Springs – Hopkins County Commissioners are accepting applications for people who would like to serve as constable to fill out the remainder of Constable Roger Maynard's term.

Maynard retired in August after 47 years in law enforcement, both as constable and state trooper.

Commissioners would prefer someone who is already certified as a peace officer. The job pays $65,000 a year, plus vehicle and an office.
