– Traffic over the holiday weekend seemed pretty safe for the most part, according to area law enforcement.
DPS offices in Sulphur Springs and Sherman reported no fatality wrecks over the Labor Day weekend, a holiday that typically sees a big increase in vacationing motorists.
Figures will be released later this week regarding DWI arrests, speeding and seat belt violations. Officers were out in force over the weekend targeting drivers on interstates and highways.
There was a report of a helicopter crashing into Lake Texoma due to an engine failure. The two passengers were uninjured.
