One Boo-tiful Time Expected in Downtown Greenville
Downtown Greenville will play host to super heroes, ghosts and goblins Wednesday. The city of Greenville along with Hunt County, Drug Free Greenville and downtown merchants are hosting Halloween on the Square from 4 to 6 pm.
Lee, Stonewall and Washington and Johnson streets, bordering the courthouse square will be closed, and businesses will be opening their doors for trick-or-treaters.
Halloween on the Square has been known to draw more than 1000 children and their parents to participate. Live music will be performed by Bad Moon Rising, a Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute band.
There will be costume contests for ages 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 starting at 5pm on the north steps of the courthouse.
There will be inflatable slides, and a bounce along with free popcorn, cotton candy, and bottled water.
The city of Greenville also recognizes Wednesday as the official day for children to trick-or-treat locally.
