Winnsboro – A Wood County man is dead after shooting his ex-girlfriend and then turning the gun on himself.
Danny Harvey, of Winnsboro, reportedly shot through the door at the Autumn Ridge Apartments and hit Patricia Favors in the leg. Investigators say he then entered the apartment and shot himself in the chest.
Harvey was pronounced dead after transported to Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. Favors was treated and released.
The incident comes a day after police met with Harvey and Favors to discuss previous instances of harassment. But Harvey was not placed in custody at the time, as his ex-girlfriend did not want to press charges.
