By Scott Harvey

Hunt County – One suspect is in custody following a Tuesday evening stabbing in South Hunt County that left one man critically injured.

Authorities have charged 22-year-old John Michael Loftin, of Quinlan, with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly stabbing a man in the abdomen at a residence on CR 2290. He remained in the Hunt County Jail as of Thursday.

The condition of the victim, whose name has still not been released, remained in critical condition at last report.

According to Hunt County Undersheriff Joe Knight, the investigation is ongoing and further arrests are expected.

Another man was treated for a stab wound Tuesday at Hunt Regional Medical Center and later transported to another facility, while a third victim was treated at the scene.
