One man injured in Campbell shooting

By Scott Harvey

Campbell – A Campbell school was on brief lockdown Thursday afternoon after reports of a man shot in the City.

The incident took place near a residence following a disturbance at around 2 p.m.

The male victim, who was reportedly armed with a knife, received a minor gunshot wound to the leg. He left the scene of the disturbance under his own power and went to the hospital in Greenville by privately owned vehicle.

There was a short time when deputies were unsure of the man's location and as a precaution, secured a school due to its close proximity to the location of the shooting. The school resumed normal activities about 45 minutes later.

Authorities were still on scene as of 3 p.m. Thursday investigating the matter. No suspects had been named at last report.
