Over 60 animals seized in Van Zandt County

By Scott Harvey

Van Zandt County – Another recent seizure by the SPCA of Texas found 63 starving longhorns in rural Van Zandt County.

The animals, reportedly weak and emaciated, were found late last week living among more than 50 cow carcasses and piles of bones.

An official with the SPCA said the dead longhorns on the property may have posed a threat to neighbor's health as well.

Later this week, a judge will decide who will receive custody over the remaining animals.

Also this week, a judge in Fannin County will decide custody over more than 60 dogs seized last Wednesday from Brenda Neely's Pet Place near Bonham.
