Owner to relinquish rights to seized animals

By Scott Harvey

Greenville – Some allegedly mistreated animals will soon get new homes. Hunt County Place 1, Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Sandy Berger presided over a custody hearing Thursday.

The owner in the case agreed to relinquish her rights to the dogs and horses seized from the property last week.

The chickens and rabbits that were also on the property were owned by someone else. That owner has ten days to retrieve the animals.

The SPCA and Hunt County Sheriff's Office last week seized 15 total animals from a property along County Road 3133 near Lone Oak.
