The Paris Economic Development Corporation has approved a $400,000 investment in the Campbell Soup Co. facility in the city.

The money is earmarked for new machinery at the plant, which will process several new product lines. It also fosters 40 new jobs at the site.

Michael Paris, executive director for the PEDC said the money is a forgivable loan designed to allow Campbell’s to stay competitive. One condition of the money is that Campbell’s must retain its new hires for a minimum of five years.
