Paris City Manager fired

By Kevin Jefferies

Paris, Texas – The Paris City Council has voted to fire City Manager Tony Williams. The 3-4 vote in favor of terminating Williams came Monday. The vote was to make the action effective the last day of December with immediate suspension.

More than 300 people were in attendance at the council meeting Monday, with many offering their support for Williams, who has served as the Paris City Manager since December 2004. Following the Paris City Charter, Williams asked for a formal statement of charges and a public hearing concerning his termination. The hearing is set for December 28th at 6pm at the Love Civic Center.
