Paris council interviews City Manager candidates

By Kevin Jefferies

Paris, Texas – The Paris City Council will be interviewing candidates for City Manager next week. Five candidates were presented to the council by the search firm hired to review applications. One of the five was former City Manager Tony Williams. Williams was removed from the position amid some controversy late last year.

The council decided not to interview Williams, citing their familiarity with him, and also removed the least experienced candidate from consideration. One of the last three also dropped out, saying she had accepted another position.

The council will meet in closed session next Monday to interview the remaining two candidates.
